1995 Isuzu Trooper LS 3.2 4WD
 

My Kenyan friend finished his doctorate and returned back to Kenya leaving me his 1995 Isuzu Trooper to sell for him. He was the second owner. It appears that it has seen little if any off road use.

Needs an engine. 211,XXX miles The owner tried to change the sparkplugs and mixed up the plug wire order and it would barely run. Someone else put the wires back in order and changed the valve cover gaskets, but then it wouldn't run at all. It was towed to a shop who did a compression check and the numbers were bad. I don't know the specific numbers but 3 of the cylinders were around 160psi and the other three were 100psi-120psi. With there being 200k+ miles, a leaking waterpump, and massive oil leaks it basically needs a new engine. It does run. Barely. Sometimes. It sounds terrible and misses horribly. You can smell the raw gasoline coughing out the tailpipe like phlegm from a pack-a-day smoker. In an effort to at least make it driveable one of the ignition coils was replaced and the crankshaft position sensor was replaced, but that made no difference. The top timing belt covers were removed to check the valve timing, which appears to be 1 tooth off. Also it needs a new airfilter.

good transmission ( I believe it is the original transmission though)

It hasn't been abused off road

The Bad
211k milles
Needs an engine (bad compression on 3 cylinders)
Radiator leaks
water pump leaks
not driveable
will need tires
