ok so i'm new here but i guess so is everyone else. here's my dilemma. I've got an 88 isuzu pickup (got it for 300 bucks) but the turn signals and hazards don't work. i've not found any bad wires and no bad fuses or relays (the turn signal relay also controls the lights) and i can't find the signal flasher. grr.

if anyone has any help (they didn't have the book at autozoneor advance) i'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Steve

Hey man I got the book here and it says:

"The turn signal flasher and hazard flashers are contained in a single small canister-shaped unit located in the wiring harness under the dash near the steering column."

I have a 90 4WD Pickup, hard to find help on these things, I am changing the clutch in mine right now, not fun.

Also, check the turn signal assembly on the steering column. Make sure the harness in in all the way. I recently had the same problem and actually rebuilt my switch. Before I took it apart, I noticed a small spring was inside of the switch not attached to anything. I carefully took it apart, cleaned it, regreased everything, and reinstalled the spring. Everything works finenow. Aused switch from the junk yard costs about$10-20 if that doesnt work. Good luck and I hope you find the problem.

My 88 does this if the switch on the steering column is not just right. Took me forever to figure this out. I have to play with moving that hazard switch forward and backward and it has to be in just the right spot for my turn signals to work.

Hope your problem is as easy.

Thanks.

I had checked the turn switch with a meter and it seemed to be ok. I will take a closer look at it tomorrow and find the spring you are talking about. And check the harness connections. I have been frustrated for a while. Thanks again, at least I have something to go on now.
