2.2l question
I have a 2000 Isuzu Amigo. I'm really confused as to what engine I have. Looks to be a 2.2l. It appears on the outside to be the correct engine but some of the internal parts are wrong for an amigo. Such as the cam shaft sprockets for the timing belt. My Haynes manual shows the sprockets should be different in appearance. One having round holes (intake side I believe) and the other having rectangular or oval holes (exhaust side). Both mine look alike. Appears that orientation decides if it's intake or exhaust. That's one difference. Another is my oil pump. I ordered a new oil pump from rockauto and the one I got appears to bolt up the same but the sump tube does not match. The one I have used a round o-ring seal. The pump I ordered uses an rectangular o-ring. Cant figure out what this motor came out of to order proper parts. Any ideas?
Also appears it was out of a front wheel drive car as the mount for the timing belt idler pulleys appears to be modified from maybe being an engine mount.
