I have a 1989 Isuzu Trooper, 4 cy. 2.6 engine. My gas gauge is not
working properly, registers full when you fill up gas tank, goes to
zero before day is out. I am told that I probably have a defective fuel
sending unit which is located in gas tank. The dealer told me I would
have to purchase a fuel pump assembly which includes the sending unit,
cost is $425 and $80 labor to install. Does anyone have any experience
in replacing fuel sending unit? Do I have to buy the whole assembly in
order to replace fuel sending unit? thanks, sweetz
