If you are refering to the shoe ads and all the other crap that is inundating this site, it's refered to as SPAM.
Everytime these guys post up an ad, it results in a viable link, which in turn results in a paycheck. The posting party gets an agreed upon amount per post for the ads that they are dropping in threads in forums like this.

So, in summary, nike shoes have nothing to do with this thread.
