Just bought a '95 trooper with 140k on it. When i purchased the car the drivers side head light was dim, so I naively thought it's a ground no big deal....i 'll fix it when i fix it....after about the third week the headlights would switch to bright intermittently and the drivers side would go out. Flicking the bright arm/switch in the steering columns wouldcorrect it nine times out of 10, but now I lose the headlights altogether, flicking the arm now only works occasionally. THe problem has progressed to now when i turn the lights on, the passenger side lights up only, the dash indicates the light is bright. Additionally, the lights will turn completely off, after flicking the steering column switch a few times will sometimes get it to come back on.

As far as i can tell the taillights and parking lights function with no problem. Today i checked the drivers side headlight and wiggle the wires and the light came on bright, but the passenger side went out.

Is this still a ground issue or something more serious? what's the best way to test?
