I have a 94 rodeo with the automatic transmission. The trans runs fine until the car exceeds about 70 mph and then the check trans light comes on and the tranmission gets soft. If I turn off the vehicle and start it back up everything is fine. I have been driving the vehicle for almost a year and it has been fine under 65 mph and has run normal. The only time I have a problem is when the vehicleget up around 70 mph.

Do I have a serious problem or can this be fixed? Any help would be great.

The funny thing is when the transmission slips it will stay, I guess you would call it soft. But if you turn the car off and turn it right back on it is perfectly normal. Any ideas?

hi try to tighten your alterator belt up and give it a good clean it tends to slip if it gets caked in sh*t or it could be your alternator that needs changing

I had a similar problem with my transmission on my 2000 Rodeo...the difference was that it felt like it was slipping at take off. The tranny was covered under warranty still so I took it to the dealer to haveit repaired..it wound up being the pin broke on the accuator cover and the fluid leaked out. May not be the same issue but I would check it out...hope this helps.
