2012 Isuzu NPR
We are a small MOM and POP fire sprinkler/HVAC company , We have an 2012 Isuzu Diesel NPR , a few weeks ago our driver called because it dropped into limp mode and the manual Regen would not work , We took the truck to MIlea which is the dealership we brought it from and the service mechanic. We purchased it brand new , Milea is saying the truck isnt worth the repairs unfortunately covid hit us hard and we haven't bounced back . We are hopeful but struggling . Below is an email I received from the service manager can someone please explain how this could happen or why , also is there anything we can do to keep the truck alive 6 more months until we are on better footing . Any advice would be great . We are using a rental thats killing us so i need to figure something out ASAP . Thanks everyone i appreciate any advice .
We dropped your exhaust for the clean and bake and found the DPF Compromised.
Soot has passed through to the outlet side and there is damage caused by bad fuel injectors.
Due to the severity of the damage to the DPF filter, we dropped the SCR for evaluation.
The DPF, SCR and Nox Sensors will have to be replaced.
This is an expensive repair.
Your vehicle is 12 years old.
Although the odometer reads 12,3569 miles, you have 16,778 hours on this engine which is the equivalent of 503,340 miles.
I recommend careful consideration before making an investment of this size in this vehicle.
Your current charges;
Scan and diagnostics - $555.00 + tax.
R&R DPF and DOC for inspection - $1400.00 + tax. Includes new hardware – Old hardware is destroyed when removed.
Drop SCR for inspection - $310.00 + tax. Includes new hardware.
Current Invoice Total - $2277.60 + tax.
Additional repairs required;
Install new DPF and SCR - $7269.10 + tax.
Replace Glow Plug Cylinder 2 - $650.00 + tax.
Replace Nox Sensors - $2321.86 + tax.
Replace Fuel Injectors - $4780.61.
Total Current Invoice - $2277.60.
Total additional repairs - $15021.57
8.875% Sales Tax - $1535.30
