1992 Trooper with trouble code 14.
My check engine light comes on and stays on after two minutes of driving. My Chilton book says the trouble is a shorted coolant sensor circuit. I've also read that this sensor is under the exhaust manifold of right side engine and in the engine block just sends a signal to the temperature gauge and not the ECM. Is there another coolant sensor I've overlooked? Car runs fine. Can I do a continuity test to ground on the sensor wiring with out disconnecting the wires from the ECM?
