It's been tuned. Here's the specs;;fuel injected, 4wd, 1991 isuzu amigo, 2.3, fuel line filter, the works. when i crank my car, it will not stay cranked unless i floor the accelerater and hear a slight pop. Once it's running it's fine until I stop at a store, then the same ole thing, a nice big push on the gas. And of course you all knowthat no one can afford to wastea gallon of gas upon startup.Any ideas?

</>you didnt happen to losed the dist.r when you changed the dis. cap did ya? you might have accidently turned the distruber when you changed the cap and your timing is off as CRASHJT had emplied... Try turning your dist. back and forth trying to start your motor each time, try to find the best running position then tighten it down. You can also pull your timing belt cover off to see if yourtiming belt jumped agear toot, if it did replace the belt cause it should be really tight and notbe able tojump a tooth. Im betting its the dist. was turned though sinceyour problemarouse after you tuned it up, that or you donthave your cap on all the way. Also lookto see that your battery cables arent corroded,on snugly and not loose. Make sure your ground wire is on good and checkthe wire that goes to the starter. Electric wires build up resistence the hotter they get. Also check your starter it self. when starters get hot they have less cranking power.</> Also makesure you put your new wires on snugly both from the dist and to the plugs if there not on good then your not spark or not enough spark to the plugs till you rev it up and your spark is jumping the gap on the wire also make sure to use some of that dielectric white crap on the inside ofyour wires on both ends cause it helpsand also helps supress EMI noise, that noise some people hearfrom the car stereo when they drive that getslouder the higherthe rpms and EMI also screwes with onboard electronics & sensors.</>

for sure as everyone else has said, its the timing, it sounds like its retarded just a hair, but thats jus a guess. i would set it by ear you dont really need a timin light.

you will need a timing light to set it properly. if the timing is mechanically retarded as in a worn timing belt causing it to retard the ignition you would be best off fixing the problem instead of putting a bandaid over the problem by advancing your timing.
