hi all im harold from Puerto Rico , i just bought one 88 isuzu impulse 2.0 turbo, for about 400$its gonna be my hobby to work it ,exellent conditions but just one prob the fuel pump is not sending gasoline thru the lines , the lines are ok not clogged the wiring im about to test the voltage the question is is the pump suppose tu do de humming sound if its working i, take it out but how can i test it and if bad just replace it ??? any info ... thanks and happy to be in here...

 

a good fuel pump is usaully pretty quiet.they may make a slight whine that you have to listen for.checking them are pretty simple.check for power an ground while cranking.an when the key is first turned on,there should be a 3 sec prime.you can buy a cheap fuel psi gauge at any parts store.if you have voltage,an ground,an no fuel psi the pump is bad or the filter is extremly clogged.allways change both .
