I have a 91 trooper 2.8 had been running great . It sat for a few months . Went to start it up and it seemed to be flooding out . Removed air cleaner and looked into the throttle body with it running and the gas was not atomizing just flowing around the horns . I did not get any fault codes . Where do I go to next . Not up on this injection system . https://isuzuforums.com/smileys/smiley5.gif

Is your engine TBI or carburated? TBI means throttle body injection, a mix between a carburator and a fuel injection system. Either way your problem is clogged fuel injectors or a clogged carburator. If you love to fix your trooper on your own, then I suggest you pick up a Haynes auto repair manual and fix it by following the instructions. You can also try putting in the fuel tank carburator/fuel injector cleaner, this is a more common and less effective way of cleaning out the gunk in your carburator or TBI system.

Good luck

it shouldn't be so difficult to clean the injectors. After you take them out you can clean them by dipping them in Lucas Oil fuel injector cleaner for about an hour or so. If the injectors are really dirty, you can clean most of the heavy dirt off with a normal spray bottle fuel injector cleaner. After you let them marinate in the lucas oil you take them out and dry them with a rag. I have used that to clean my troopers injectorsand it works great. You should never clean fuel injectors with water, because it can damage the injector on the inside. Since you have to go to the autoparts store you should also get a o-ring set for re-installing the injectors properly. After that your injectors will be like new. When you start the engine after everything is back together, dont hesitate if you see a white smoke coming from the tailpipe, this is just the oil in the injectors that is being flushed out.
