Does any one know what might be the cause of the following:

On my 2000 Amigo the wipers when turned on to the intermittant setting will stop mid windshield. The High and Low settings work fine, but when turned off the wipers will stop on the windshield right at the point it was turned off at. Please help if you can and thanks.

most likely u will need the alarm and relay control unit, located behind the glove box.that is the fix for that problem 49 times out of 50

Thanks for the info. Easy replace? Cost aprox? Dealer only Part?

If you you know.

Thanks Again

I have the same 2000 Amigo and the same wiper problem, it is so frustrating!

Very. Since it does not rain often, but when it does it's a pain. Does the previous post with that relay replace sound like a solution?

Good Luck!!

i don't quite understand what the alarm has to do with it. i assumed there was a seperate intermittant wiper switch located behind the wiper lever it self. But the "alarm and relay control unit" is deffinently worth looking into. what do you think?

Sounds like it's a relay that might have a dual role or two together, I don't know, but I guess it might be worth a try, as long as the cost to replace is not excessive, and with the cost of some Amigo parts, who knows. I will try and check into this when I get more time.

But good luck to you if you get a chance to try this before me.

isuzus is right the alarm control module will fix the vehicle, it sounds crazy that the alarm control module has something to do with the wipers but that is the way isuzu designed it, I personal have fixed about 20 vehicles with the same problem in the last year

Definitely the relay and control module... That was also my mechanic told when I had the same problem.. He told me it was broken and needs replacement, a aftermarket car part for a relay in good enough... So, got a relay and change the old one and it was fixed immediately.. Had a peaceful rain days in my car ever since... Goodluck!!!

I know it's been a while, and have confirmed about the alarm/wiper relay behind the glove box. I was also told never replace with one from a salvage yard part or similar usedpart, for it will fry your electrical system if it is not the exact year and manufactured months of the same Amigo. Does any body know? The used part is way less, and this is turning out to be a fairly expensive part just for the function it does. Anybody? Help please.

Thanks
