I have tracked a problem to lack of diesel (I think) i dont think we have enough supply going to the mechanical fuel pump.

I am thinking of setting up a temporary top up tank and feeding the pump through the supply pipe

I dont think I need any pressure just a supply of clean fuel whilst somebody tries to start the truck.

Will this prove my theory , of a fuel pump test ?

 

The first thing to check is pretty obvious. Are you out of gas? Sounds simple enough. If you are out of gas then you just need to get more. Well, maybe not. Once you add gas you still may not get it started.
