I have a 2017 Max and what to replace the head unit with HEMA map software.
What is considered the best head unit to suit this model Dmax

If, by head unit, you mean infotainment unit, then you will be hard pressed to find a better unit than that built and sold by VHEDIA. A Perth West Aust company where I purchased a new head unit for my 2014 DMax. The Isuzu guys must have been asleep at the wheel when they developed the original head unit which is a total piece of useless crap. I unplugged it and tossed it and got a Vhedia unit - best investment I made. Absolutely brilliant and makes a world of difference to the output of the original speakers. If you haven't committed to something else, go check out their website.
