Hi all,

My 92 trooper started a major oil leak yesterday and I was told that the rear crankshaft seal has broken. Any idea how involved it is to change that as a DIY project? Thanks.

it can be challenging to the unexperienced, the most problem is getting the exhaust out of the way.but its pretty cut an dry, just move the trans, flywheel, take out the old seal an install a new one, doing this on the ground in your driveway or somthing is always a pain.

Thanks , so what's the correct name for this seal? Is it the crankshaft seal or transmission seal? I'm trying to price it and was wondering if you knew the exact info. Are there any write ups out there? Thanks
