I believe my 97 rodeo v6 with 130k miles on it is ready for an overhaul. Both middle cylinders are getting hosed with oil. I pulled all the plugs to replace and the ones that are sandwiched by the others from both sides because it is a v6 must run hotter and are killing either my valves or piston rings. Does this sound familular to anyone and is a rebuild an expensive undertaking? I have noticed a power loss and fuel consumption is averaging about 14-15 mpg. Please share any thoughts. is oil getting into the cylinders or just the spark plug tubes?if just the tubes, your engine doest need overhauling.after-time the spark plug tubes will seap oil into them. to fix that the valve covers need to be removed and the tubes can be replaced, usaully doneby the dealers.also depending how bad the oil is filling up the tube, isuzu also offers an updated spark plug wire set that helps stop the oil from entering.130k not alot of miles, gas mileage sounds about right for that mileage.
