Hi all!

I am new to the site. I have sworn off Haynes for the last time.

I have a 98 Amigo 3.2 V6 4x4 with 114k. Great truck, loves the snow... Recently it began not starting. The starter would click and after a couple of tries it would catch. Now it clicks but rarely catches. I figured that it was the starter so I found a used one locally. Before I rip out the rusted exhaust to get the new starter in, I really am hoping someone will say that it is something much easier. Maybe the ignition? Anybody run into this before?

HELP!!

yep ............it always the starter..sorry.an yes they are a bee ouch.to put in cause of the exhaust.....now heres a tip......if you can take loose the 3 at the manifold.an the 2 at lead to the other side converter at the flange.take unplug the 02 sensors an take out the 2 nuts at the muffler rubber hanger.in ft of the muffler.an slide the whole section back far as you can get it.the starter will have plenty of room to come out. i also have just loosen the 2 engine mount bolts on the drivers side, dont remove them just back them out a few good turns right before they thread all the way out,an with a jack raise that side of the engine.it can make just enough room to get the starter out.those are your only two options, for me it was easier to fight the exhaust.but isexhaust bolts break thats your other option
