I've got a 91 Rodeo and having issues with the clutch. It has been diffucult to put into gear and when the clutch is pressed all the way to the floor in gear, she'll still move as though the clutch is not engaged all the way. She upshifts decently, but she wont downshift, I have to float the gears to drive and turn the car off if I have to go from reverse to 1st or vise versa. We had bled the system several times and when that didnt work, we had the master cyl and slave cly replaced and still no luck. I was told of a possible adjustment involving a rod and a lock nut in which I can move back the nut and which will give the rod a bit more push on the clutch and might solve the prob. (sorry for my lack of vocabulary, but I dont remember all the terminology.) Has anyone had this problem as well and can you tell me what the problem may be and how to fix it? any help would greatly be appreciated.

Possibly bent/broke your shift fork.

If you shift hard or offroad its probably the problem

There is a clutch oil damper mounted to the firewall under the brake booster. This will allow air to inter the system but will not leak fluid. I would replace it first before any attempts to adjust the rod. After you install and bleed the system, pump the pedal 100 times. This will allow any trapped air to work its way back to the master cylinder. Also be aware that aftermarket reman pressure plates and resurfaceing the flywheel will also cause this concern.
