1988 isuzu tropper

Car starts and cuts off . I found out that the fuel pump cuts off when I let off the key from the crank position.anyone know why?

there's usually a few electrical interlocks on the fuel pump circuit to shut it off under certain circumstances, such as an accident or rollover.
I don't have a wiring diagram for an 88 so I can't tell you much more.
