1987 gmc s15 2.2l diesel rebuild?

hi i am hoping someone can give me some advice as im at a crossroads with the truck i love. i have a 1987 gmc s15 4x4 5 speed manual with a c223 engine under the hood. the body and frame and be restored i also rebuilt the transmission and replaced the rear axels and and seals. the engine is failing now http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/images...s/icon_sad.gif i am hoping someone can help get this truck back on the road. with 58hp and 93lb-ft lets face it im hoping to get more power out of the truck one thing that did surprised me is how much the truck can tow 2200lb tralier with 500lb of gear and 500lb of gear in the box sure is a work hourse. i want to stick with a 4 cylinder diesel engine i have done lots of research but having trouble finding the right information i looked into a few options now but dont want to go with to heavly of engine as my truck only came with the 2.5 l and 2.8 l wich weighs 370lb for the 2.5l and im not sure what the 2.8l weighs
a) rebuilding the c223 engine for $3000 450lb
i looked into turboing the result would 73hp 114lbft which would be a little improvement but reading forums turboing a c223 engine does not sound like a wise desicion as this engine design was firstly a gas engine then converted to a deisel engine (c223) wich was very reliable until isuzu turbod the engine and connecting rods failed
is it possible to get a c223t rebuild kit and use it to rebuild my c223 engine? i having a hard time finding a aftermarket rebuild kit to make the engine stronger to i can turbo it and get more power out of the engine
b) using the 2.8l 4jb1-tc 105hp 178lb-ft 550-630lb would definetly be a improvement the only engines i could find are over seas since im in canada i found a few crate engines would you guys recomend going this way? heres a few links

my concerns are these engine worth it, are they reliable, and will they bolt up to my borg warner transmission or do i need adapter plate
c) i also looked into 3.1l 4jg2 weight? i am i correct by saying they were not availble her in north america just like the 2.8l the only diffecnce i could not find any crate engines
d) 3.3l cummins i found hardly anything about these engines 550-580lb 75hp-85hp and im guessing 200lb-ft
e) 3.9 4bt cummins aa wopping 782lb 110-125hp 250-300lbft way to heavly although wouldnt be a bad engine for the sonomas and s-10s that can handle that weight unfortunlt i think i would have to do alot of work to my truck so it can handle the weight and torque

im leaning towards using the same engine and trying to get what power out of it i can or going with the 2.8l.
im open to any suggestion and advices ou guys can get me thanks!
