Spark to only one cylinder

1990 Amigo 2.6 L. Fuel pump died a couple years ago let it sit. Went in drained and flushed tank 5 gal new fuel. New fuel pump. New Battery. New starter. turns over have fuel press and fuel. no spark. checked coil read out fine. checked plugs, and wires they were fine. Took it to a mechanic, he said the crank sensor was bad in distributor. Put in new distributor, cap and rotor. now there is Spart to number one cylinder only. got my hands on two other ECMs. one did nothing other produced spark at one cylinder. never seen or heard of this. wondering if I got the wrong distributor or is it something else. talked to several mechanics, they all said they cant help. done all I can do. anyone have any ideas? even the dealer is reluctant.

I have a 1998 Isuzu Amigo with a 3.2L Engine. When I purchased the vehicle the engine had a very bad knock and I was told it was ran with no oil. I swapped the motor with a 3.2L out of a 2002 Rodeo. I had to use the original harness and intake. I also discovered I had to punch out the plug in the head to add the Cam Position Sensor (not used in 2002). The engine is getting fuel and cranks but will not fire. If I spray carb cleaner in the intake it will try to start but never really fire up. Any Ideas where to go next??

The answer to both entries here is to probably take your ECM to a dealer or send it off to an on-line source to get properly programmed. Not always possible to just throw in another ECM and fire it up and drive away.
