Thinking about purchasing a 98 4X4that would need an engine. Any recommendations out there for best place/price to have this done (I live in Arizona). Want the V6, but trying to see if it's worth the cost for the engines since theyare harder to find so the cost is higher. Maybe another engine replacement optionthat would fit with minor mods that would be cost effective. I would like this to be for off road and if possible a daily drive as well. Let me know and thanks for any replys.

I have a 99, but I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't have a V6. Go for the V6 if gonna be a daily driver.

Thanks,

Have let that deal go along time ago. I do own a 2000 with a V6 and you are correct, the V6 is the minimum for the AmigoI would go with, the 4 is too slow , but it would be fast with a aftermarket install of a larger engine.

Have Fun.
