Default 89 Trooper 4 banger head gasket issue

Hi, Lost a head gasket, have the head off and things look good. Suggestions on putting it back together would be appreciated. Are there specific head gaskets that are preferable? I'm thinking the head is not warped and can be checked with a good straight edge??
Your thoughts please
Thanks

I used to have an 85 Trooper with the 1.9 and I couldn't keep head gaskets in it. Tried everything, factory gasket, Felpro gasket, checked head and block for warping, never did solve it. Fortunately, my ex-wife got it in the divorce. I have an 86 now with the 2.3 but haven't had it too long. So far, no problems. Best advice is make sure the block and head are perfectly clean and then check with a good metal staight edge and feeler gauge. Use a good gasket and probably a sealer like copper kote to make sure. Follow the book for torque sequence and bolt tightness, and cross your fingers!
