Default Squeeking from rear when going over bumps

Has developed an annoying squeek from drivers rear

Cannot get it by bouncing up and down on stationary vehicle but driving over bumps sounds like I have been infested by Philips mice!

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem after the dealer did the frame repair recall on my ' 99 Rodeo. Turned out to be a rusted out rear bumper bracket that had broken during the repair and was rubbing metal-on-metal when I hit a bump. Once I found it I just had to bend the pieces away from each other.

Mine was in the left rear corner but there is so much rust that it could be anywhere.

Hope you find it!

Other than checking every bracket joint in the rear, no. Also check the screws that hold the fuel filler neck and and the shock mounts.

Has it been in for the rear frame recall? If something there is severely rusted you may have metal-on-metal contact and squeaking before it finally lets go.

Good luck,

Stan
