Hehehe.. You made a funny post here and I think that the light switch must be there when you will see at the backlight.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know why I can't create a new thread? It just erases everything I type and then tells me my thread is too short!?!?!?

Mine was on the right hand side of the transmission (Aisan, not the GM). The part number is 8972071380. This switch is a multi function switch, not just the bu light. It is quite expensive. It is no longer available-obsolete. I did find it at Rockauto.com for about $200. The old one was frozen on the shaft and I tried everything in my arsenal to remove it to no avail. I finally gave up and took it to a transmission place and they got it off (for another $199!!-ouch!).
A side note...after I recieved the new switch and destroyed the old one trying to remove it, I plugged in the new switch to the wiring harness, set the switch in the "neutral" position so the vehicle would start and drive. This worked just fine until I made the decision to take it to a shop. The only thing I found that was disabled while the switch was in neutral permanantly was the cruise control...
