fan motor not working

My fan motor does not work on any setting, so i replaced it and still nothing. Fuses are good. How do identify a bad resistor and if its not that how do i remove the switch that controls the fan speed?
Thank you for thehelp!

You might just need a now blower motor resistor. if you take the old fan and feed direct power and it spins fast then you didnt need a new motor. here is a like to help find the location of the resistor. http://www.justanswer.com/car/285eq-...-fuse-box.html

I did apply power directly to the old motor and it did not run. I have used a multimeter to check the resistor and everything is either open or short with no resistances. What are the odds I have a bad resistor and a bad motor at the same time? I was thinking it was maybe the switch that controlled the fan speed but need some direction in removing it. Thank you for the quick response jacob

The odds of the motor and resistor going out together is fairly high (like some people experience a alternator and battery at the same time). if you know the guys at the parts store see if you can look at one of their resistors and see if yours looks the same. some guys will even let you take it to the car to try it out first. when your switch is on high do you get full voltage out and then decrease as you reduce the speed?
