Default Lift/Tires/Gears

Before!!

I have read a bunch of posts on all 3 topics, but haven't seen one that puts it all together for my dumb azz! I'm hoping I can get this all in one place for other noobs like me!!

I just bought a 2001 RS V6 Auto 4x4 w/ 165k that I want to wheel a bit in Rocky Point Mexico. (Mostly sand, a little muck).

I love the look of this one: http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/ad13 ... ark002.jpg - That's the look I am going for! I like the stuffed wheel well look.

I'm thinking I am wanting 33x12.50s or equivalent for the sand.

First - Advantages/disadvantages of a body lift/suspension lift. (Or will I have to do both?) How high will I need to go? Will trim if necessary, but how much and where will it be needed? What other mods will be needed for the necessary lift?
Second - Will I need to re-gear? Will be mostly a wheeler, but also want it to be streetable for my wife's driving. What ratio would you recommend? Should/could I do lockers at the same time? Manual hubs and recommendations?
Third - What wheel/tire combinations does everyone like? I'm thinking ATs for the sand/street. What about backspacing for 12.50s?

Financially, is it best to wait and do it all at one time or can I do it in stages?

Any other considerations or recommendations?
