Default 91 trooper 2.8 V6 oil cooler line

Has anyone replaced the oil cooler lines coming from behind the oil filter. I'm on Maui and the trooper is on another island. First of all does anyone know what size flare nut wrench I need. I plan to have the new lines made at carquest. Would it be okay to just loop the line back and avoid the cooler?
Thanks

Isuzu redesigned these cooler lines to no longer have the problems associated with the original design.
I also had failing lines on my 91 2.8l. After I had new lines made by a manufacturer that specialized in the subject, the manufactured lines shortly failed. I tried used lines as well, with little luck. I finally contacting an Isuzu Dealer and learned of the new design and paid about $200 (my best recollection) for the set to be shipped in.
They have performed flawlessly since installation, living up to the redesign aspect.

Many things on these troopers have been updated by Isuzu.

Thanks for the info. I ended up pulling the lines off and skinned the crimp off with a cutting wheel. The hose was a standard 1/2 ID. I had to redo the cover on the oil filter because it leaked with permatex. Switched to silicon. Made a loop bypassing cooler. I guess I could have cut off all 4 crimps. They were made of steel and hard to cut. So far no problems in the field taking the trooper hunting and fishing on 4x4 roads.
