Smile I just bought a 2003 Axiom XS w/ 138,000 miles

The vehicle is in fantastic condition (from what I can tell) and I bought it for $5,800.00.

I have the one with Black exterior and the Black/Gray two-tone interior (with gray leather heated seats) plus Moonroof.

It drives straight, has newer tires/brakes, and everything appears to work (save for the following):

- A bulb is out behind the instrument cluster (behind the left side of the speedometer and the odometer).

- A light in the right heated seat switch (the high setting) is out (and doesn't heat the right seat). The low setting appears to work tho.

I have a clean car-fax, but no mechanical history regarding work done. I went to Biggers Chevy (former Isuzu dealer) and they still have a Isuzu specialist (mechanic) on staff. I was told that changing the tranny fluid was important (draining, not flushing.... replacing the filter/gasket and using original Isuzu parts), and since it is a closed system, that it is wise to do so since there is no way to determine any work done prior to my buying the car. I was told $420.00 total (to drain and refill with new fluid and replace filter / gasket). This seems excessive to me. Opinions?

I'd really like to find a way to put in an after market stereo giving it bluetooth capability. Has anyone tweaked their Axiom to take on another stereo (given the climate control / computer LCD panel are all integrated)?

Any helpful comments will be appreciated.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of information on these vehicles. I just picked up an 02 for $5k with 115k miles and liked it so much I didnt bother to read on it before I bought it.

I have found zero aftermarket options for installing a radio in this thing. I am a bit of an audio nut and I have been reduced to the cassette adapter to line-in my satellite receiver

I seen a post on another forum of a guy who installed a touch screen dvd/cd unit above where the stock information display sits. He had to remove the heat/ac vents to place it but it looks nice.

I like the way your Axiom looks in black by the way. These things are one of the coolest SUV's that nobody has heard about.

I was enamoured with a 2002 (Dark Grey with Black / Tan interior with "ATX" on the seats). It got sold out from underneath me, so I found the one I now own (with grey leather interior).

I am looking at Audio options also. <Side note, this forum loads VERY slowly and has almost zero community activity... which is a bummer>. I am looking at using a Bluetooth with power jack plug in that reaches out to an FM station on the stereo... and tying in my Iphone to it for conversation and to also play my MP3's. I am looking at a kicker subwoofer in back (that is powered) to enhance the stereo (the midrange and speakers are top notch) and the system itself is made by Clarion (who makes the mcintosh product for Subaru Outback VDC's and the system looks similar). The Navi I wanted to put in will have to go somwhere else (I put a garmin on the left side of the upper dash and hid the power cable so at least it doesn't look gawdy). Lets talk some more, and between us, we can come up with a kick **** solution methinks......

If the stereo you bought is one of the narrow ones (single DIN) you can buy a double DIN adapter for your car. You will also need a wire bundle to plug in the new stereo to your car.

Well I was just as curious as most people about the question if there is a replacement stereo for the Isuzu Axiom, so I did a little research and I noticed that the Isuzu Axiom has a twin under the name "Great Wall Hover H3" and if you look for replacement stereos for this SUV you will notice that it has one under the name "Vigo" model number VGW6259. Good luck people ^_^
