Exclamation clogged catalytic converter? need help

I just bought a 95 isuzu rodeo 3.2 V6 4x4 with 123k miles and when i bought it, it needed a tuneup so i changed the plugs/wires. drove good for about a week and then just started running like crap one day on my way to class. It now will not go past about 3k rpm and is VERY sluggish. Takes a long time to start it also. I have replaced EGR, MAP, coils, fuel injector cleaner, changed oil and filter, and still nothing. No CEL is on either. The bulb works fine because it lights up when i turn the key to start it. Have had a few people say it was a clogged catalytic converter and some say it is crank postion sensor. But if it was a sensor wouldn't it throw a code? and plus i cant find where the crank position sensor is located! Some help with this please!

crank position sensor is located passenger side of block right under motor mount. hope this helps. I would try to swap it, if it fixes great. If not return that bad boy and try that cat.

just pulled the cat off and tried to start. still the same thing. but now the check trans light is flashing. Why would the trans light be flashing if it shifts fine? Just REALLY hard to start and when it does it runs like crap. Idle is fine but when i touch the gas it sounds like the intake is sucking alot of air than normal. Still won't go above 3k rpm also. I am lost here people and really need this truck running. Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks for the location. I'll go check that out now!

well you said you pulled the cat off and the trans light came on, not sure where the o2 sensor is located ( before or after cat) but if after that could explain that light. Umm try spraying carb spray around the intake where it actaully bolts down. If it starts to rev up or maybe bog down you could have a bad intake manifold gasket. let me no what that does. also try cleaning you mass air flow sensor and throttle body

ok cleaned everything today and nothing. actually couldnt even get it started today. the check trans light came back on after trying so many times to start. If it is blinking cant i check for a code? it is a pre 96 though. so does that mean it isnt obdII? can i even check for codes on this thing without taking it to the dealer? still havent replaced the fuel filter yet though. hopefully thats it.

I had a similar starting, running only low RPMs issue a couple times when mine was fairly new. Turned out the intake manifold gaskets were leaking. Both times covered under warranty.

Mine now needs a new exhaust - for certain. Don't want to hijack the thread. Will post new topic.
