Default ISUZU block - 6VD1 and 6VE1

Greetings,

I have an oil pressure issue with my engine Honda Passport 2000 which are engine type ISUZU 6VE1.
The mechanic first suspected the oil pump. I ordered a brand new one but the problem persists. After that, he found that the crank is worn as well as bearing pads.

I found in the market a used engine type 6VD1 (year 98). By doing some research, it would seem that the engine block is the same with 6VE1. So the mechanic ask me to buy this engine so that we can replace my block (6VE1) by the newone (6VD1). I would only have to put my cylinder heads on this block.

I would like your opinion on this solution. One forum reported that the 6VD1 and 6VE1 models share the same block between 98 and 2004.

What is your opinion?

thank you in advance
