Hi, I am a new member looking for some help.
I have a 1994 4wd v6 Rodeo, 150k miles.

About 2 months ago the check engine light came on ONE time, stayed on
for a few minutes and went off.

About 1 month ago it came on again and I tightened the gas cap and
didn''t see the light again.

Yesterday the light came on and off about 6 times in 30 miles of driving.
It goes on and off about every five minutes. THE STRANGE THING is that I
noticed that it ran smooth when the light was on and hasitated or lacked
power when the light was off. I could go 50+ mph but could not kick it
into passing gear.
When the light was on, power and speed was good and passing gear
worked.
Any Ideas?
Does a ''94 have a plug in for codes?

Here is a place to start. This is for a 1991, but you may find other years there. You can count the light flashes, after hooking up a jumper and then follow instructions to read the codes.
