Default 2002 Axiom XS 4WD Main Fuse blows

Hi guys... Have had this Axiom like 2 years... 150k miles now... like new inside and out and always serviced.
Yesterday the wife and baby went to grocery store... came out and no start or starter engagement. Pulled hood and fuse panel.... Main 100 amp fuse was blown. Bought 2 (installed 1) as soon as I reconnected negative battery post pop goes the fuse. Towed home and after looking over for grounded hot wires found nothing. No other fuse blown . Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Okay put in New fuse with no key in vehicle.. popped the main 100 amp fuse again. After checking some wiring that appears to come from near the alternator up to the front of the passenger side head front (clip attaches there)And making sure those wires ( two inside factory tape, a lot of the protective coating ... the stuff that protects wires and tape missing and some brittle and breaking) I jumped the main with a clip. Nothing but a small spark (Not like before as before it would b4 arc like a welder) The wife started the car. It ran but I had to remove the clip as it was getting a lot of heat/spark after it was running. The car kept running until I told her to shut it down although I removed the jumper clip from the main fuse slot. I taped those wires mentioned and kept that part of the harness mentioned and from touching anything. Put in another new main fuse and popped it.. no start again. Any help guys. Thanks

Re did alternator wiring .. wiring was naked a bit away from alternator bolt up just a bit... still blew main fuse again. So alternator removed and getting new one. Ohms test revealed alternator may be grounding out internally...So new one is On The way after being tested at parts store at this moment. Thanks for the help "Joe" on Facebook... No help here unfortunately. I'm familiar with American made but also disabled and a Veteran U.S.A.F.

Alternator was the issue but wiring is haunted on these cars... So be warned.
