A/C Compressor issue?
#1
Hey guys,
I went to get my A/C recharged at Jiffy Lube because it's hot and I
could use some A/C in my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. But they did the recharge
twice and still cold air wasn't coming out. The manager then later told
me that my compressor was not running consistently and would start and
stop. Does this mean I need a new compressor altogether? A belt
issue? I'm a college student strapped for cash and payin so if I could
get the cheapest solution that would be best.

haha well I saw the compressor start and stop myself with my own two
eyes but yeah the best thing is to take it to my mechanic but I'm
probably gonna hear the dreaded words "You need a new compressor".

the compressor is actually SUPPOSED to turn on and off. They always
cycle. if you have a freon leak, the compressor will only work for a
short while, and then the low pressure cut off will keep the compressor
from coming on again until pressure is restored.

I have a similar problem that gotten progressively worse,
94 2.6l Rodeo, The compressor started to cut in and out at
increasingly shorter intervals, now it runs for less that 10
seconds when first turned on rapidly dropping in temprature,
then it starts cycling on and off rapidly 2 seconds off and kicks
in for a split second them off again ? (The system is fully
charged)
Is there a relay or something that con be checked or replaced?!

Wow why didn't I think of that ?
Maybe your suggestion will start a trend and all the people in the warmer states that have no A/C, Faulty or broken A/C's, will move to Alaska too making it the most densely populated state in the US.
You're a Genius, you must be related to the President...!?
