I don't know about you guy's but I can't beleave the miles you can get out of a trooper. My 1990 2.6 just hit 256.000 and is still running and looking good.

Well, you can get hundreds of thousands of miles out of a car, it just depends on where you live, the roads where you usually drive, the maintenence that you perform, and most importantly howYOU drive. The previous owner of my trooper really never took care of it. The oil was changed less than 5 times in 15 years! It was a total mess. I have replaced everything exept the short block and drivetrain. I completely rebuilt the brakes. I have learned everything that I know about auto mechanics thanks to that trooper. Totell you the truth my trooper is real bad in reliability. My trooper breaks parts on a monthly basis, so I have to repair it on a monthly basis. Some times I get mad and frustrated at that, but then I thank God that it happens because I fix it myself and I learn from that. I am only in 12th grade and I have learned to do everything from a simple oil change to an engine swap with that trooper. When I graduate I am going to take a college course on auto mechanics, later on I would like to study mechanical engineering. Please dont mind my sloppy writing, english is my second language after espaņol.smileys/smiley14.gif

its all about maintenance.most people that lose engines dont check their oil often.as isuzus tend to eat oil-you have to watch it close.outside of that ive had real good luck
