Hi, i have a friend with a 96'''' Passport with the 3.2L and it overheats.

The car has ~165k on it. Hasnt been driven in about 2 years, and when they decided to leave the car alone, it was because it overheated quickly.

Are their any common problems with these cars?

Also, about how often do timing belts need replacing on these engines?

does the water pump generally need replacing when timing belts are done?

I''m used to working on volvos(old and new) so this is a little bit different to me.
