Ok,I need some help on this one,so i hope someone here can.I recently had to replace the water pump on my 86 Trooper. Its a 4 cyl timing belt engine andI had to remove the timing Belt and tensioner to get at one of the water pump bolts. Well needless to say I inadvertently turned the top timing belt pully( cam pully) and naturaly...I did not index the timing marks before I started so...I threw the timing out of wack.So my question is,how can I realign the marks? The manual says both marks should be facing up.Other folks I've talked to say the marks should be pointing at each other.ie: one straight up the other staight down. And one more thing I've heard there are interference free engines.Meaning turning the engine over with the timing misaligned will not cause any damage.Any expertise on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Stu Wiley

PS: joke all you want about this one but also some answers please...

I figured it out, There was enough info in the manual to figure it out.
