Swapping transmissions
#1
While taking out the old transmission out of my 98 Rodeo the haynes manual says to let the transmission tail down so you can reach the top 2 bolts while doing this MAYBE 1/4 an inch BOTH exhaust tubes broke right below the exhaust manifold they broke clean like someone took a saw to them...after doing this I then realized i didnt even need to let the tail down any to reach the bolts JUST GET A VERY LONG EXTENSION AND GO OVER THE TOP OF THE TAIL SECTION OF THE TRANSMISSION WHILE SUPPORTING IT OF COURSE!!!!!JUST F.Y.I.

Its not uncommon for those pipes to break there, even without lowering the tail of the transmission. I've seen a few posts from ppl that found theirs broken while tracking down exhaust leaks. If they're still in good shape you can have them rewelded.

yes they still look very good and I am in the process of taking them off and having them welded.. they both broke right at the weld..I need to install them after the new transmission goes in just in case.
