If it shifts into 4hi and 4lo ok but is not locking in the front axle, check to make sure your hubs are engaing right. Sometimes automatic hubs need taken apart, cleaned and regreased. If they are ok but the front actuator isnt working then check to make sure the switching valves are working and vacuum is ok. If those are alright then the front actuator might be stuck and need replaced.

Here is the vacuum diagram for yours to help with checking parts.

I just had a transmission rebuild, so the transfer case was removed and returned back after repair.
Now the front axles are not engaging. 4Hi, 4Lo are working , but only the rear axle spins.
What could be not assembled right?
I've read here about a vacuum line locking the front hubs, so where should I check it?
