Reverse lights no work
#1
Thought I read on here one time possible solutions for fixing backup lights. Now when i search I can't find anything on it, thought I read something about the wiring of the transmission. I have a 95.5 Rodeo andit goes into gear fine but the reverse lights do not come on and the bulbs are brand new. Does any body have a write up or can give instruction on how to check to see if the tranny is wired correctly?Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, I BOUGHT MY RODEO FROM A GUY WHO just had the tranny re-built and when I got it the reverse light did not work, I did some research and realized that they totally forgot the back up sensor that goes right under where the gear shift goes into the tranny, it was 19 bucks at the dealer and took about 45 minutes to install. you need to take off all the plastic and rubber around the gear shift, but one thing they never told me is that you need a small copper washer and when i put it in the first time I went into reverse it started grinding my tranny so I took it off again and put the washer in and it worked fine.
